Excellent Cases from Distrelec's RND Brand

published: June 13, 2020 — last modified: October 23, 2025

First, this is no sponsored post.

I like to put my devices into a nice case. It does not only look more professional, but it also protects the electronics from dust and water. If you ever searched for a nice case, you probably know how overwhelming the offered range of enclosures is. Nicer ones, with seals and good looking plastic, are often very expensive in small amounts.

A few years ago, Distrelec started his own brand called RND. Meanwhile, you can get the whole range of electronic needs from this brand.

I especially like the excellent quality of the offered enclosures. Not only are they well made, but they are also cheap.

In the photos, you see an IP65 sealed enclosure with a clear lid (RND 455-01034) made of polycarbonate (UL94-HB). There is a wide range of different sizes, from very small to very large. This excellent case, with the clear lid screws and seal, is just about $10.

You also see a pressure compensating plug (RND 455-01103) and two different cable glands.

Conclusion

I really like the RND brand from Distrelec. It provides components in good quality for a very low price. Also, there are 3D models for all these enclosures, which is perfect to check if your PCB fits.

Sure, Similar components are available directly from Chinese suppliers. If I order them from Distrelec, they arrive in 1-2 days and have guaranteed quality and properties.
