Today the stencils from OSH Stencils arrived for the Swiss precision timer project.
I used to work with steel stencils for all my previous projects, therefore the polyimide film (3mil) ones feel very flimsy to me. I will see how they will perform adding the solder paste.
Pricing
The cost of the two stencils, without shipping, was $14.05. For $15 I get steel stencils from PCBWay – but I did not test their stencil service yet. Eurocircuits would have produced steel stencils for approximate $50 in perfect quality.
In the next weeks, I will build and test the first prototype using these stencils. I am looking forward to how they will perform.
