I created a complete color table with the impression of all possible 4096 Meggy Jr RGB colors. The green LED is much brighter than the other two LEDs, the first tables used blue as base which does not make much sense. So I created a second set of tables which use the bright green as base.
If you like to create own tables or if you try to create something like a simulator or color lookup, here a ZIP file with all colors as individual PNG images: MeggyJrColorLEDs.zip
Blue Based Tables
How I Made this Tables
It looks like a lot of work, but actually wasn’t. I just wrote a small sketch which produced 64 color tables on the display of the Meggy Jr RGB and used a DSLR camera in manual mode to shoot photos from the display. I forgot to remove the dust from the display, it is still visible on some images :-).
I processed the 64 RAW images and removed any distortion until they had a perfect fit. To achieve this I created an “ideal” mask as template. Now I just has to rearrange to LED images to the bigger 16×16 arrays. Extracting and composing was mostly done using ImageMagick with Perl scripts. Everything took not longer than one hour.
